Aarhus School of Architecture wants to strengthen digitalisation in architecture with an emphasis on component design and digital production. We are looking for a profile with strong architectural competences in construction and the development of components based on new technologies. We expect you to have experience from digital design and fabrication, have knowledge of traditional and new materials as well as production and construction processes, and take a general interest in architecture as an aesthetic and social art with a long and deep history. Relevant experience from research or development work which corresponds to the requirements for an associate professorship is a requirement for the position.
The associate professorship should explore the development, design and realisation of building components through the use of new technologies, including digital design and production tools – for the benefit of architectural practice, research and teaching. This may, for instance, be based in the development of non-standardised building components or in how digitalisation and digital fabrication can promote quality in ordinary buildings. The associate professorship also involves the academic responsibility for the digital workshop facilities of Aarhus School of Architecture.
An associate professorship is a permanent position with research and/or artistic development work as principal responsibilities. Publication, scientific dissemination and teaching are requirements. The position may also involve project management and administrative work as specifically agreed.
The position is open from 1 August 2018. Remuneration will be in accordance with the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC-fællesoverenskomsten).

More about the lab.
The teaching activities of the positions will be affiliated with the teaching programme Technology, Building Cultures and Habitation, which includes teaching at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. More about the Teaching programme.
