The city of Vejle in Denmark, invited the students form Aarhus School of Architecture to design and realize an upcycled pavilion made from materials rescued from recently demolished building. The idea was to create a meeting place, where the future challenges of climate change and waste management could be discussed, new ideas for sustainable development could be introduced and where building waste can be seen as resource instead of a problem.
Two weeks of designing was followed by four weeks of building. The pavilion was created to draw attention to reuse and how to design for disassembly so the materials could be reused again in the future.
