This workshop is preparatory for engaging and taking agency in the context of the spring semester 2020. The aim is to create a setup, functioning as a meta-layer for the semester brief: “spaces where architects engage with the society”. Studio 3 will become a co-creator of a temporary common work-space, a part of Haus der Statistik (HdS) near Alexander Platz in Berlin. We will use the space to synthesize the output of mappings, contextual explorations and we will contribute to a community-house for refugees, cultural workers, production, educational and civic initiatives. This workshop will introduce alternative definitions of themes as: “Design for Disassembly”, “Commoning”, “Ritual”, “Property” and “Context” through talks, discussions, and development of bottom-up mapping strategies. The intention is to create a “room” for development of individual and common mindsets for participatory architectural production.
