WHO TAKES THE COUNTRY’S SIDE?
Ellen Braae is professor of landscape architecture and urbanism at the University of Copenhagen working at the intersection of design and humanities. She is profoundly interested in how we think of, how we interact with, and how we shape our physical environment that we share. Braae’s focus is on post-industrial landscapes and in recent years on welfare-landscapes – in both cases seeking answers to the question of how to live – in meaningful, beautiful, and sustainable ways – with the ruins of previous epochs in the future. Ellen Braae has written extensively in journals and magazines, and she is the author of several books including Beauty Redeemed (2015) and Routledge Research Companion to Landscape Architecture (2018).
At Open Architecture Day, Ellen Braae joins Sébastien Marot on stage discussing ‘Who takes the country’s side?’
