Michael Marder is Ikerbasque Research Professor of Philosophy at the University of the Basque Country, Spain. Marder’s work spans the fields of environmental philosophy and ecological thought, political theory, and phenomenology. His books include Green Mass: The Ecological Theology of St. Hildegard of Bingen (2021), Hegel’s Energy: A Reading of The Phenomenology of Spirit (2021), Pyropolitics in the World Ablaze (2021), Energy Dreams: Of Actuality (2017), and Through Vegetal Being: Two Philosophical Perspectives (2016) with Luce Irigaray.
In relation to her site-specific work Repulsive Enchantment (2021), artist Lea Porsager invites Marder to share his thoughts on the furious and pervading presence of energy.
