‘Dear Studio are working in the digital field. They want to inspire, showing that prototyping, mockups and tinkering can also be done digitally. And that the digital can also take shape in the physical world. We also hope we can help give children an opportunity to experiment down here. And the facilities of the New Neighbour project can help us achieve this. We also hope to establish cooperation with students of architecture who wish to experiment with the digital discipline.’
– Anne Toft, from Dear Studio ApS, is part of the New Neighbour coworking community.
Bank of Materials
Apart from being home to four companies, New Neighbour also houses Bank of Materials, a partnership between Aarhus School of Architecture and the firms Kvadrat, Sørensen Læder, ZURFACE, and Dinesen. Bank of Materials is the first materials bank in Aarhus. It collects surplus materials from the four companies and makes them available to people who wish to transform the materials into creative projects.
Bank of Materials is, therefore, a bank where the value is social, and materials are the currency. Knowledge and inspiration are exchanged. This benefits the creative processes and exciting stories that come about when you work with the materials. Learn more about the project and how you can apply for materials at www.bankofmaterials.org.
