Spant Studio was founded by Troels Thorbjørnson and Kasper Holmboe in 2014, while they still studied at Aarhus School of Architecture. ‘Spant’ (meaning transverse section or frame in Danish) refers to a shared fascination with ship constructions.
The studio focuses on tectonic and detail in small housing. This also characterizes a seaworthy and beautiful sailing vessel – a construction that remain a role model in all architecture and functional design, if you ask the founders. Spant Studio’s work covers everything from industrial design and furniture to single family housing, accommodation facilities in tourist areas and destination management.
At Open Architecture Day, Spant Studio joins the panel discussion “100% Green” together with Hahn Lavsen Architects, Rumgehør, KONDENS and Tideland Studio. The panel goes Behind the Scenes of starting up: How do you balance vision and architectural dreams while, at the same time, creating a sustainable business? The architects on stage represent five totally different approaches to architecture, however they all have a profound care for the environment at the heart of the business.
