YOUNG ARCHITECTS WIN THE RESTRICTED DESIGN COMPETITION FOR NEW SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE<\/strong><\/h1>\nVargo Nielsen Palle wins with powerful and pragmatic project<\/h4>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/main><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>The newly established practice Vargo Nielsen Palle has won the Restricted Design Competition NEW AARCH<\/em> ahead of established and internationally recognised practices. The winning project is a result of close interdisciplinary cooperation with ADEPT, Rolvung & Br\u00f8ndsted Arkitekter, Tri-Consult and Steensen Varming.<\/p>\nThe winner was announced at an event 17 March at Aarhus School of Architecture where, among others, the Danish Minister for Transport, Building, and Housing Ole Birk Olesen and Mayor of Aarhus Municipality Jakob Bundsgaard participated.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a powerful project that interweaves with its surroundings, \u00c5dalen, the city and the surrounding neighbours in the area. The new school of architecture will be a cultural hub that encourages interaction and dialogue. An open, pragmatic, flexible structure that allows for continuous change and adaptation to changing needs, and which focuses on the future life and activities inside the building. It will be a factory for architectural experimentation that will set the stage for cooperation with the city, the profession and our neighbours \u2013 just as we wanted\u201d, said the happy rector of Aarhus School of Architecture, Torben Nielsen, who is looking forward to leaving the out-dated premises in the old merchant\u2019s house at N\u00f8rreport \u2013 premises which have been the \u2018temporary\u2019 home of Aarhus School of Architecture for more than 50 years.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>
