Mette Mechlenborg (DK) is Head of Division and senior reseacher at BUILD \u2013 Department of the Built Environment, Aalborg University, where she investigates housing, everyday life and architectural practices in relation to social dynamics, climate challenges and urban transformation.<\/p>\n

She holds a PhD and an MA in Literature and Modern Culture. Her research centres on contemporary housing typologies such as tiny houses, co-living, high-rises, and demolition-rebuild practices, as well as the social and cultural meanings embedded in domestic spaces. Mechlenborg is a member of the Academic Council and Committee for Equality and Diversity at Aalborg University. Recent works include Mikroboliger i Danmark (2024), the podcast What\u2019s it like to live in a high-rise? (2024), and Riv ned eller byg nyt (2024), addressing sustainable housing strategies and carbon footprint reduction.<\/p>\n
