Moon Hoon

Moon Hoon was educated in architecture in Korea and at MIT in the USA. He runs the studio Moon_Bal_Sso/MoonHoon Architecture, where his core interest is breaking the boundaries of architecture by experimenting, chashing, and mixing with various other disciplines.

Moon Hoon’s major works include the hotel Rock It Suda, the Wind House, and Sangsang Muesum. He makes short films about his architecture, and his drawings have been acquired by Museum of Modern Art in NY and Tchoban Faundation in Berlin.

Moon Hoon has a desire to expand the expressive portential of architecture.

“Imagine a building, a city, a scene, a view, a nostalgic hometown and many other possibilities and ponentials. I am avoiding the word fantasy, because fantasy can be drawn and thus built and realized in to this world we live in. Mundane, everydaysness is drawn and exalted to a different sphere, where there is no longer any disparity between architecture and other things. All becomes fused into a whirlpool of fluctuation of fields. I am a doodler like a writer, I hope …”

Trine Berthold

Trine Berthold is a Danish architect educated at Aarhus School of Architecture. Since 2003 she has been with schmidt / hammer / lassen architects where she is also an associate partner. She is mainly involved in concept development and the development of libraries.

From 2014-2017 Trine Berthold held the position of prorector at Aarhus School of Architecture.

Trine Berthold is a menber of The Academy Council of the Artists Society and has since 2007 been engaged in an annual drawing event for kids and young adults:

“Drawing is a tool for speculating on the future. It allowes us to materialise and communicate a sense of place, space or vision. It is an invitation to a discussion on values and the development of society,” explains Trine Berthold.

Torben Nielsen

Archicets MAA Torben Nielsen has taught and researched at Aarhus School of Architecture since 1994 and has been rector at the school since 2010.

By establishing modern workshop facilities, he has emphasised students’ hands-on skills and their ability to test their idears in scale 1:1. He has also strengthened the school’s international orientation through recruitment and cooperation with schools of architecture and universities located in such diverse locations as China, Mexico and Australia.

As an architect, Torben Nielsen has mainly worked with the relationship between architecture and light – and his work on this theme has been exhibited several times.
