230 PROPOSALS FOR A NEW SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

Will the new school of architecture in Aarhus be yellow, should it be made solely from bricks or will the offices be floating above ground?

The school received 230 highly different proposals for the open design competition for a new school of architecture in Aarhus. Some proposals were more daring than others, but they are all fascinating in their different takes on how a 21st century school of architecture should function and what it should look like.

You can explore the three winners of the open design competition along with the other 227 competition proposals in the exhibition building during April.

The three winners of the open design competition will be invited to participate in the restricted design competition on an equal footing with the three pre-qualified teams: BIG, from Denmark, Lacaton & Vassal, from France, and SANAA, from Japan. This means a total of six teams will be competing for the final design of the new school of architecture at Godsbanearealerne in Aarhus. We expect the restricted design competition to be launched in late summer 2016.
