BRUTHER | NEW MODERNISMS
Founded in Paris in 2007 and later in Zürich, Bruther belongs to the generation of European architects who launched their careers at the beginning of the recession, a condition reflected in the way they define architecture: like a Swiss Army knife, a tool to be used in the most disparate circumstances, an aid that reconciles all fields of knowledge. Their recent projects suggest a delicate balance between strategy and form, rigour and freedom, the specific and the generic, immediacy and evolvability in what could be called a new modernism, reigniting the legacy of the post-war welfare state.
