In Fall 2019, the Government allocated 1.5 billion DKK to green research from the research unit, and Aarhus School of Architecture has been granted two million DKK for pilot projects that can contribute to the green transition. At Aarhus School of Architecture five research projects have been selected to receive this funding. This research project is one of those five.
Bridging Academia, Stakeholders and Practice is an initiative by Research Programme 3: Radical Sustainable Architecture. The objective of the research project is to encourage collaboration and interaction between academia, practice and stakeholders through collaborative research by design. It aims to establish a conceptual framework and organizational structure that enables a new mode of collaborative designs, that involves, connects and guides all stakeholders towards a stronger sustainable future. This is of paramount importance to collaborate to achieve any of the goals laid out by the UN’s sustainability development goals (SDGs).
We are aiming to find ways to integrate and make synergies in research and development from both academia, practice & stakeholders by disseminating knowledge to the public about what we do and creating a platform bringing together students, practices and different stakeholders, from product manufacturers to municipalities. The project aims to strengthen and communicate TP3/Lab 3 as pioneering and innovative contributor to the green transition agenda through sustainable architectural research as well as teaching development.
A digital platform that will facilitate collaboration is under works and will be launched in the near future. As a part of the project we have been mapping out the research and collaboration activities of TP3/Lab 3, which will help to disseminate Research Lab 3’s expertise in the field of sustainability.
Meanwhile we have created an interactive map that can be used by future collaborators and even by staff and students to see the network of research and collaborations we are involved in. You are more than welcome to explore this and the map will expand as our project moves forward.
