Cabin Fever 2025 Powered by VELUX: The International Summer School Returns
From July 23–31, 2025, Cabin Fever, the international summer school and festival by Hello Wood, will once again take place in the atmospheric post-industrial landscape of Česká Kamenice, Czech Republic, at the site of a former textile factory surrounded by nature. Powered by VELUX, a committed supporter of the future’s architecture, the event is a celebration of innovation, sustainability, and the next generation of architectural talent.
This international architecture summer school and festival combines hands-on learning, international collaboration, and architectural experimentation. Over 8 days, five renowned studios will each lead a team of students to design and build a fully realized timber cabin and installations.
The theme of Cabin Fever 2025 is “quality time, connection to each other” – a response to our fragmented world, a redefinition of space and time through spaces that allow us to slow down, be present, and share meaningful moments.
By partnering with Cabin Fever, they are fostering creativity and forward-thinking design. It’s a collaboration that reflects our core belief: the future must be built responsibly, with light, with care, and with purpose.
Studios already on board include:
Arthur Mamou-Mani (UK) Temple Galaxia, Burning Man 2018
Geoffrey Eberle (ES) Entropic, former project leader Bjarke Ingels Group
Mjölk architekti (CZ) Czech poetic architecture icons
Hello Wood (HU) award-winning design-build programs
*More studios to be announced soon.
A unique aspect of the program is that all participating students receive official credit for the completed structures, providing professional recognition and valuable additions to your portfolios.
Applications are now open – individually, as teams, or with a proposal for a temporary installation.
