Mahamed Abdi (DK/SO) is a trained building designer and architect.

Mahamed has extensive experience as an architect and project manager, particularly in East and West Africa, and has been involved in projects in countries such as Sierra Leone, Gambia, DRC Congo, Zanzibar, Tanzania, and Kenya. His work in Africa has focused on architecture, culture, and identity, as well as interdisciplinary, research-based architectural projects with health in West Africa as a central element.

Currently, he works as an independent architect on housing projects in Copenhagen, but the majority of his work is carried out in Nairobi, Kenya. There, he focuses on architecture and identity, urban planning, and the transformation of slums and disadvantaged urban areas, as well as affordable housing.​
