Aislinn McCarthy (IE) is an architect and PhD Fellow at Aarhus School of Architecture, where she explores perceptions of architectural value in existing social houses in Denmark, focusing on the caring, continuation of their detailed materials, through a lens of repair.

Through her past research and practice at AAA, University College Dublin, Even Space Studio, Richardson Pribuss, GVI Fiji, among others, she has applied design-build methods to assemble constructions, studying local material circularity and the processes that foster meaningful connections to the home in Ireland, Denmark and the U.S.A. Co-founder of Glimt Collective, she has also collaborated in exhibitions such as On Moving Ground (2024), Fleksible Fællesskaber (2024) and Gender, An Architectural Agenda (2018). Together with others, Aislinn holds awards including the Danish Arts Foundation Courage Award (2022), Buildner and Sansusi (2023) and DocexDoce Europe (2021).
