Malte Karstoft Birch (DK) graduated as an architect from Aarhus School of Architecture in June 2026, from Studio 1C Transformation.
His award-winning graduation project, Fra hverdagsrum til kriserum, received the 3XN/GXN Architecture Shapes Behaviour Award and explores the ongoing crisis facing Danish society.
Malte is particularly interested in transformation and in how existing buildings can acquire new meaning through a thoughtful approach to material reuse and an understanding of future users. His work is grounded in the inherent qualities of architecture and its ability to respond to changing societal needs.
