Merete Lind Mikkelsen (DK) is a practicing and writing architect with a strong focus on shaping within existing structures and a critical perspective on the architectural profession from an artistic point of view. She primarily works with existing buildings, insisting on uncovering their architectural and cultural-historical potential to create deeply sensory, narrative, and enduring architecture at a high artistic level.

Merete recently completed the vision for the reconstruction of the historic Børsen building, which now forms the foundation for its restoration. She is currently developing a method for reusing obsolete structures through artistic 1:1 work, where presence and nuanced observation lead to unexpected, site-specific solutions grounded in architectural history and building techniques.
From 2016 to 2023, she served as Head of Heritage, Architecture, and World Heritage at the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces, where she emphasized architectural assessments, heritage planning, and sustainable development.
