The PhD project explores architectural aesthetics as a catalyst of agency by linking the concepts of affordances, atmosphere and the Anthropocene in a research through design process.
The project follows a concept-driven research through design methodology. The design process is driven by exploring a link between the concepts of affordances, atmosphere and the Anthropocene. The research through design process culminated with the installation ‘Urban Carpet’. Urban Carpet was designed in collaboration with Elias Melvin Christiansen and installed on the traffic island in front of Aarhus Banegårdspladsen as part of Aarhus Festuge 2018.
The defence takes place on June 30 at 13:00 in The Seminar Room at Nørreport 15, 8000 Aarhus.
There are only a handful of seats available in the room due to COVID-19 measures. Book your ticket with PhD Coordinator Mia Mimi Flodager, mmf@aarch.dk.
You can also watch the defence online with Microsoft Teams. Please be sure to keep your microphone muted and your camera disabled for the duration of the defence.
