In reality, it was the result of collective work in Unit 2/3F, where students transformed one of their semester projects into a full-scale prototype called The Cocoon.
The intention was to leverage the school’s excellent workshop facilities to bring a semester project to life. The students voted on which of their projects should be built.
The semester’s focus was on DIY culture, micro-living, and resource consciousness.
The surface was made up of felt panels – kindly donated by Kvadrat – as well as hand-felted wool insulation panels donated by Villgrater Natur, and thick leftover acrylic felt sewn together.
The upper structure was a combination of aluminum tubes and wooden branches, while the cladding consisted of straw collected from a nearby lake.
After the exams, the cocoon was fully disassembled so that the materials could be returned or reused elsewhere.
