Aarhus School of Architecture, schmidt hammer lassen architects, VOLA, and the Danish Arts Foundation proudly announce the joint venture Drawing of the Year 2015.
We invite entries from students at architecture schools all over the world.
An internationally acclaimed jury will be looking to award drawings that inspire, communicate and engage with Sustainability Through Architecture.
The drawings should focus on sustainability and architecture’s ambition to take an active part in the change of our society. And the drawings should address architecture’s ability to contribute to a sustainable environment on all scales – concepts, utopias, buildings, landscapes and cities.
The art of drawing
Drawing is seen as a media production and dissemination of thoughts and dreams. The recipient should be invited to wonder and to be moved and involved in drawing as a recognition and discussion of architecture.
The competition is thus seen as an opportunity to demonstrate the potential discourse for discussing and developing architectural ideas through the art of drawing on paper. The aim is to celebrate the oldest tool of architects as a relevant media for the development of ideas.
The drawings will be exhibited at the Aarhus School of Architecture in December 2015 and at the Library at DOKK1 in Aarhus in January 2016.
