Stadig byggeplads
The exhibition is a tribute to those who build and give dreams physical form through their work, and it marks the living dialogue of buildings with their surroundings from the first groundbreaking, with embedded unseen events, memories, and stories.
In the school’s library, the exhibition Stadig Byggeplads can be experienced until September 1st featuring photographic works by former rector Torben Nielsen.
The photographs were taken over the two-year construction period of the new school of architecture and primarily portray craftsmen in action, captured in spaces between materials, structures, light and shadow. Each photograph is a fleeting moment in the raw surroundings that have since been built over. Here, the craftsmen take center stage, bearing witness to the moments of detail that few see or experience during the making of a building.

In connection with the exhibition, the photo book of the same name Stadig Byggeplads is also being released. It features more than 300 black and white photographs by Torben Nielsen documenting the creation of the new school building and its early use. The title refers to the vision that the school will continue to evolve, dynamic, raw and full of experiences, just like a construction site.
The photo book is supported by the Dreyers Foundation, Realdania and Boligfonden Kuben. It is available for purchase at Architegn and all proceeds go directly to the school’s student associations.
The Danish Building and Property Agency and A. Enggaard A/S have supported the exhibition through the acquisition of selected works.
