Aarhus is a very popular place to study. This means that it can be very difficult and expensive to find accommodations on the private market.
Some guest students manage to find accommodations on their own, but if you consider doing so, make sure you plan well ahead.
We, consequently, recommend that you make use of the accommodations offered to guest and exchange students by the school, these accommodations are generally cheaper than what you can find on the private market.
Denmark is generally an expensive place to live and housing costs are similarly high. The aim of Aarhus School of Architecture is not to make money from guest student housing but to provide a service and facilitate the stay of guest and exchange students.
Before you start
Before you get started take a look at the documents in the links below. They will tell you what to expect and what to do.
The accommodations we offer guest and exchange students are made available by Student Housing Aarhus (Kollegiekontoret).
Very few of our accommodations are located close to the school or in the centre of Aarhus, in general they are rather located on the edge of the city but within biking distance / no more than approx. 30 min. by bus; there are frequent connections to all large student halls. Although we regret that we cannot offer more central accommodations we ask you to keep in mind that the situation is the same for Danish students.
These are the student halls where we can usually offer accommodations to students:
More information may also be found on the homepage of Student Housing Aarhus.

Useful housing links
Student Housing Aarhus (Kollegiekontoret) is a non-profit organisation and often the easiest way for a student to find a place to stay. They provide a housing guarantee for students, but as there is a waiting list you should apply as early as possible.
Important: You cannot apply through Student Housing Aarhus if you use the School’s housing offers for guest/exchange students.
You will find our offices in the Education Secretariat at Nørreport 20.
