- Irregular Circularities – International Summercamp 2026
OPEN CALL – The International Summercamp 2026 takes place May 29th–June 7th and is organized by the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation as part of the Real-World Laboratory ZEKIWA Zeitz.
International students, graduates and early career practitioners from the fields of art, architecture, design and related disciplines are invited to spend 10 days exploring the circular economy and future transformation potential. Applications should be submitted until 19th February 2026. There is no application fee, and there will be no programme fee in the International Summerschool.
Under the title ‘Irregular Circularities’, the 10-day Summercamp will bring together different positions in Zeitz and Dessau-Roßlau (Germany) from various academics, architects, artists, designers, local actors, and students to collectively debate and practice visions for such regions in transition. The international summer camp is divided into four thematic areas: soil, energy, air and dreams. Through a series of hands-on workshops, experimental learning platforms, and keynote lectures, a set of multiscale possibilities will be explored to gain local, resource-efficient, and sustainable impulses for the former ZEKIWA area, the Zeitz locality, and beyond.
Applications can be submitted until 19 February 2026 and must include in one PDF (max. 10MB) the following:
– a short biography (150 words)
– up to 5 images of current (student) projects
– and a letter of motivation (350 words) on at least one (preferably two) of the four projects mentioned above.
All documents should be sent to summercamp@bauhaus-dessau.de
Questions about the summer camp can also be sent to this email address.
Selected candidates will be notified by 27 February 2026. The full programme will be published in March 2026.
