Join us for an online lecture by Architect Perry Kulper Monday 30 November on Zoom (Find link and passcode below).

Perry Kulper is an architect and Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of Michigan since 2006. In a prior life, he was an SCI-Arc faculty member for 17 years and held visiting teaching positions at Penn and ASU during that time. Subsequent to his graduate studies at Columbia University he worked in the offices of respected mentors Eisenman/Robertson, Robert A.M. Stern and Venturi, Rauch and Scott Brown, before moving to Los Angeles.

His primary interests include the roles and generative potential of architectural drawing; the outrageously different spatial opportunities offered by using diverse design methods in design practices; and in broadening the conceptual range by which architecture contributes to our cultural imagination. He published several books and shared his experience at remarkable schools around the world.

Although Perry Kulper wished to be in Aarhus in person, due to coronavirus obligations, he will give the lecture digitally. We will learn about his terms of architectural design practice and education over the generative potential of presentation.

In his own words:
‘Fast, Medium, Large’ will get under the metaphorical hood of influences, hunches, and flat out shots in the dark, toward constructing a spatial and teaching practice. Using examples of student work and mine, alongside a few key influences, ‘F, M, L’ will build relations that point to developing cultural and disciplinary participation, in spatial realms.

The lecture is arranged by Studio 3, Teaching Programme 3.
