ARCC
Founded in 1976, the ARCC is an international association of architectural research centers, academies and organizations committed to the research culture and supporting infrastructure of architecture and related design disciplines. Through conference programming, grant and award programs, workshops and research journal Enquiry, ARCC represents a concerted commitment to improve the quality of life in the built environment.
Historically, ARCC’s members have been schools of architecture who have made substantial commitments to architectural research, often by forming centers directed to research programs. At the same time, ARCC has sponsored many projects, conferences, and other activities involving the broader architectural research community, including industrial laboratories, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private practitioners engaged in research.
ARCC members are engaged in sponsored and theoretical research and in graduate studies intended to develop a more comprehensive research infrastructure for architecture — an infrastructure of researchers, facilities, equipment, research centers, and academic programs working to expand the knowledge base for education and practice.
As an organization of researchers and research centers, ARCC sponsors workshops, undertakes sponsored projects, sustains networks, and exchanges information and experience intended to help build a research culture and infrastructure — in architecture schools and beyond.
EAAE
The European Association for Architectural Education is an international, membership-based Association organizing architectural schools in Europe. Membership is not limited to countries that belong to the European Union, all European countries may participate. The EAAE is a non-profit, Belgian registered organization.
The purpose of the Association is to advance the quality of architectural education and also to promote the quality of architecture in Europe. The Association provides a forum for generating information on aspects of architectural education and architectural research.
The mission of the Association is to build a network of European schools of architecture, fostering discussions, exchanges and a common policy in Europe to advance the quality of architectural education. The EAAE promotes the interests of member schools as institutions and academic environments.
Aarhus School of Architecture
At Aarhus School of Architecture, we believe that architecture should influence the world and create sustainable settings for people who live in it. This is why we educate architects who, through new ideas and relevant solutions, can create value for the community in a changing world – a world which increasingly challenges us to think creatively in order to exist, to live, and to thrive. We do this by working closely with other professional groups, by embracing new technologies, by daring to experiment, and by constantly acquiring new skills.Through our artistic approach, we find new ways. Through scientific studies, we find new answers. And through practical application, our theoretical knowledge is transformed into professional skills. Our ambition is to be a Scandinavian elite institution for the development of architecture. We want to train the best architects by admitting the most qualified students – the most talented and most motivated. We take responsibility for and engage in the community which we are a part of.
Velux
Ever since the company was founded in 1941, the VELUX Group has been dedicated to ongoing dialogue with students and professionals about the role of daylight in architecture as we believe that collaboration and knowledge-sharing are key to driving innovation.
DAYLIGHT AND ARCHITECTURE https://www.daylightandarchitecture.com/ is a global knowledge-sharing initiative that promotes daylight in architecture. Our focus is on exploring the limitless potential of daylight, and the many ways that natural light inspires architects to create and innovate.
Established as a resource for students and professionals, DAYLIGHT AND ARCHITECTURE celebrates the importance of daylighting in a variety of ways: through our Daylight Talks lecture series, through the biennial International VELUX Award for students of architecture, and through our free online library of articles and interviews related to daylight and design. In everything we do, our goal is to share knowledge, encourage dialogue and collaboration as well as to inspire innovation.
