Solvej Balle (DK) is an author born in 1962. She debuted in 1986 with the novel Lyrefugl. She has also written the story collection Ifølge loven and the short prose books &, Eller, Hvis and Så. Since 2020, she has published the first five volumes (of seven) of the novel series Om udregning af rumfang.

In 2025, Balle was nominated for The International Booker Prize.

She holds a master’s degree in philosophy and attended the Danish Writers’ School under Poul Borum from 1987 to 1989.
