The first field workshop for our DFF scientific research network was conducted on September 14-16, in Larvik, Norway, at the quarries of Lundhs. We asked the common question, What is the quarry as an ecological landscape? Working with earth and environmental sciences to understand the full environmental consequences of processing stone, we focused the workshop on a common visioning activity in an unused quarry. We furthermore had quarry tours and presentations from the research group members, as well as a guest participation from researchers in the CARVEland network.
