Event Details

How does noted architect and scholar CJ Lim develop and execute his spectacular drawings?

CJ Lim sheds light on his creative process in the exhibition Inhabitable Infrastructures: Science fiction or urban future? The exhibition opens in the school’s canteen on 1 September when the fall semester starts. You can explore the exhibition until 29 September.

The exhibition kicks off the international student competition Drawing of the Year 2017. The theme of the competition is Everyday Utopia.

Where: Aarhus School of Architecture, the Canteen, Nørreport 18, 8000 Aarhus C

Everybody is welcome, no registration needed.

The exhibition

The exhibition displays 11 drawings that present an alternative future patterning of space.

Inspired by science fiction, the drawings establish hypotheses and strategies that promote a new paradigm for urban living in regions facing climate change of different degrees of severity.

Although the drawings in the exhibition begin life in the computer as digital lines, they have since been printed, collaged to fuse with spatial narrative, hand-traced to capture all of human’s creative nuance, scanned and digitally re-traced, and finally finessed with layers of textures and tones.
