Mio Tsuneyama (JP) is a Tokyo-based architect and founder of Studio mnm.

Her works are characterized by rethinking architecture from the perspective of daily life, utilizing urban resources such as vacant houses, waste materials, soil, and the sun, and placing architecture in a cycle from production to disposal. She and her partner, architect Fuminori Nousaku, are engaged in challenging architectural practices, such as the renovation of thier home and studio “Holes in the House” while living in it, and a traditional construction method house with independent foundations to coexist with the underground environment. “Urban Wild Ecology” is their architectural theory and attitude for connecting and bricolaging the resources and energy around us and reconstructing habitability for multi-species.
In addition to her design activities, she teaches at the Tokyo University of Science, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), and Columbia University, where she is exploring positive architectural practices in a new climate regime, with food and soil as themes.
