GETTING HERE
OPEN26 takes place at the Aarhus School of Architecture. The school is centrally located in Aarhus and can be easily reached by public transport, bicycle, taxi or car.
By bicycle / on foot
Aarhus is a pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly city, and walking or cycling is an easy way to reach the festival. Bicycle parking is available in front of the school.
By bus
Several bus routes serve the area around the Aarhus School of Architecture. The nearest bus stop is approximately a 5-minute walk from the school.
By tram / By train
Aarhus Central Station is served by both tram and train and is approximately a 15-minute walk from the Aarhus School of Architecture. From the station, you can continue on foot, by bus, bicycle or taxi.
By taxi
Taxis are available throughout Aarhus and can be booked through local taxi services. Aarhus Taxa can be reached at 89 48 48 48.
By car / Parking
Parking around the Aarhus School of Architecture is limited. We recommend using one of the nearby paid car parks: Godsbanen at Skovgaardsgade 3 or Scandinavian Center Parking at Margrethepladsen.
Accessibility
Is OPEN26 accessible?
The three stages located on the ground floor are fully accessible. There is elevator access to the stage in Project Room 2, as well as full wheelchair access to the accessible toilet facilities on the ground floor.

Attending OPEN26
Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome at OPEN26. The festival brings together Danish and international architects, artists, curators, researchers, teachers and students, as well as political voices and others working across architecture, the built environment and related fields.
Can I arrive at any time during the day?
Yes. Check-in is open throughout the day, and you are welcome to join the festival whenever you wish.
Can I leave and return during the festival?
Yes. Once you have checked in, you are free to leave the festival and return later on the same day.
Can I reserve a seat in advance?
No. In true festival spirit, sessions are attended on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend arriving early if you want to secure a seat for a particular session. If a session reaches capacity, limited standing room may be available behind the seating area.
TICKETS
How do I get a ticket?
Tickets can be purchased here. You can pay by credit card. Once your purchase is complete, your ticket will be sent to the email address provided during checkout. If you do not receive your ticket, please check your spam or junk folder. If you still cannot find it, contact us at open@aarch.dk. Your ticket will also be resent a few days before the festival.
Can I get a refund?
Tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to give your ticket to a colleague or friend.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. You can give your ticket to someone else by simply forwarding the ticket email to them. Each ticket can only be used for check-in once.
What is included in my OPEN26 ticket?
Your OPEN26 ticket gives you access to the full festival programme. Coffee, water and a morning pastry are included in the ticket. Additional food and beverages can be purchased throughout the day. All food served at OPEN26 is vegetarian, and you are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer.
Are there discounted or free tickets for students and staff?
Enrolled students and staff at the Aarhus School of Architecture receive a free ticket. You will receive an email with a link to claim your ticket.
Food & drinks
Can I buy food and drinks at the festival?
Yes. A selection of vegetarian food and beverages will be available throughout the day at the outdoor camp. Coffee, water and a morning pastry are included in your ticket.
Programme
What language is the festival in?
International speakers will present in English, and sessions featuring international speakers will also be held in English. Panel discussions featuring only Danish-speaking participants will be conducted in Danish. The language of each session will be clearly indicated in the programme. No translation or interpretation will be available.
Photography and Video
OPEN26 will be documented through photography and video for communication and archival purposes. By attending the festival, you acknowledge and accept that you may appear in photographs or video recordings made during the event.
