Kirsten Halsnæs (DK) is a professor of climate and economics at DTU. She has played a leading role in the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) since 1993, with a particular focus on the costs of climate policies and on sustainable development and climate. Her research areas currently include modeling the consequences of extreme climate events such as floods and developing quantitative methods for assessing the UN’s sustainability goals regarding climate. Kirsten has been a member of The Danish Council on Ethics for 6 years and is a very active participant in public outreach and debates.
