Ruth Baumeister (DE) is an architect, historian and writer. Since 2014, she holds the professorship (mso/associate) of architecture history and theory at Aarhus School of Architecture. She received a PhD from TU Delft with a thesis on the Danish Cobra artist Asger Jorn´s concept of architecture. She has taught at TU Eindhoven, Bauhaus-University Weimar, the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and held the position of a visiting professor at the University of Cagliari/IT.

Her research on the effects of globalization on architecture and the post-war European avant-gardes in architecture and art has been published internationally in eight languages. She is the co-author of Back to the Office. Over 50 once revolutionary office buildings and how they sustained, nai010 publishers, 2022 and in 2023, she was co-chairing the scientific panel of Architecture of Inclusivity, at the UIA world congress of architecture. Her current research focuses on the cultures of maintenance and repair in architecture.
